Kahn. The Islander
by Arne Maasik at the Bishop’s Castle in Kuressaare, 2016

The first exhibition of the research platform was held in the castle of Kahn’s boyhood – the bishop’s castle in Kuressaare – in which the surrounding context was also a part of the exhibition. It was an experiment that investigated how Saaremaa’s medieval architecture could hold a dialogue with buildings designed by Kahn on the US East Coast, with a mix of black and white photos displayed and resulted in the publication of the book Kahn. The Islander.
